BATTLE OF THE BOOKS WILL RETURN IN THE FALL!

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
What is Battle of the Books?
It’s a fun and exciting reading competition for students in grades 4th - 6th! This is the 2nd year for this event at the Robert R. Jones Library.
Who can be on a team?
Teams consist of up to five students, and may include students from just one grade or from mixed grades, but they must be in grades 4th - 6th. Teams may be mixed (made up of students who attend different area schools or who are home schooled). Each team must have an adult coach.
Who can be a coach?
Any adult who can fulfill the duties may coach....parent, teacher, grandparent, etc. See “Coach’s Duties” on back for details.
What is the competition about?
Over the course of the school year, teams read the 20 books on the list. Teams may divide the list as they like amongst team members. More books read by each team member makes a team better prepared. During the spring competition the teams will compete against one another in a trivia competition.
Where do I find the books on the list?
The Robert R. Jones Library and Bicentennial Elementary School Library both have copies of the books. They are the 2019-2020 Bluestem nominated books. Ask if you need help finding a book! Other public libraries carry the books in multiple formats. There are also copies of the ebooks and e-audiobooks available through the library’s ebook catalogs.
How Do I Register?
