About the event
Global Stitches: Embroidery Summer Series
Join us for Global Stitches, a three-part summer embroidery series for adults celebrating traditional needlework from around the world. Each month, we’ll explore a different cultural technique, learning the unique patterns and stitches that define each style.
🌍 June – Norwegian Hardanger: Discover the delicate beauty of Hardanger embroidery, known for its geometric cutwork and white-on-white elegance.
🧵 July – Japanese Kogin: Learn the art of Kogin, a form of Sashiko embroidery featuring intricate geometric patterns stitched with white thread on indigo fabric.
🖤 August – English Blackwork: Delve into the striking contrast and detailed linework of Blackwork, a traditional English embroidery style known for its monochromatic motifs.
🕕 All sessions begin at 6:00 PM. No prior embroidery experience is necessary—supplies and instruction are provided. Come for one session or stitch along with us all summer long!
